I research AI and build things with it. I’m interested in how models learn, how data shapes them, and what happens when you put them to use. The occasional working prototype helps keep the curiosity funded.
I opened one paper to answer a question. Now I have 37 tabs and a side project.

Research Interests
Multimodal models, computer vision, generative models, and state-space architectures. I’m interested in learning from limited labels and imperfect data.
Now / exploring
Currently exploring how AI can help address weather and climate challenges, with a focus on precipitation nowcasting and Earth observation.

2026: Joined the Climate Intelligence Lab at DI Lab, Inc. as a researcher.
2026: ESCAPE published in the International Journal of Applied Earth Observation and Geoinformation: physics-informed soil moisture and surface roughness from ALOS-2/PALSAR-2.
2026: Received the Gilas Award from the Philippine Embassy in Korea for the third time.
2025/11: Presented Hybrid Deterministic-Diffusion Framework for Probabilistic Precipitation Nowcasting at the KAGIS Fall Conference and IAGi International Symposium, Jeju.
2025/08: Presented Building Damage Assessment Captioning at IGARSS 2025, Brisbane.
2025/05: Presented HYDRO at the Korean Meteorological Society Spring Conference, Seoul.
2025: Received the Outstanding Paper Award from KAGIS and the International Association of Geo-informatics.
2025: Received the Gilas Award for the second time.
2024/12: SAMBA published in the Korean Journal of Remote Sensing (40(6-3), 1505–1521).
2024: Won the Grand Prize for algorithm development from the Korea Aerospace Administration (KASA), for change detection at the Satellite Information Application Contest.
2024: Joined the IRIS Lab at UNIST as a researcher.
